WA on show

Well it was me and Jacko's turn to have a trip into Perth and this time we were going to the Perth Convention centre to see the WA on show Exhibition. It's held over four days during the Labour Day long weekend, and the best thing is it's all FREE!

The whole thing is promoting things around Perth and the rest of WA, with stalls that cover The new railway network, retail businesses, local and state government departments, the Army, Police, and my favorite one Tourism from different townships like Albany, Busselton, Swan Valley and many more. In this photo Jacko is hanging out with one of Midlands street sculpture people at the Midland Redevelopment Authority stand which was a pretty cool one.

Here Jacko was watching the model trains exhibition set up by the Model Railway Association which set up a real beaut little township and railway as you can see. He thought seeing Thomas the tank was the best thing, but all up they had just over 300 flamin' stalls so we were pretty stuffed after four hours of walking about.

So when we got a chance to sit the bum down we took it they had a movie going about Perth so we just had a rest break and then back into it. But this time it was Jacko's turn to have some fun with the free kiddie rides......

First we hit the bouncy castle which as you can see is actually a bouncy ship, which inside you have a few slides and things you can hit and tackle. He loved it and after a fair while he went to the next one....

To the motor bikes, where he just loved it, first he just took it nice and slow but after a short while he was spinning it around flat out just his mom! and bumping into the other riders..... like I said just like his mom! and just when dad was stuffed from the queuing up we had one more to go....

Yes a go on a real ridge didge flying UFO! This photo was taken just before takeoff...... three two one ..... blast off!!!!

wwwooooowwww..... He went about a metre and a half into the sky, how scary and he loved it. So after a few more rides we hit the stalls again to collect more info pamphlets, pens and free bags with balloons, lollies, and different stuff. Then it was time to hit McDonnels and a ride back home on the train, to say I was stuffed was an understatement. Fairdinkum I was knacked and happy to find a lounge at home with the cricket on the telly, what a ripper way to finish a beaut day.
(and just if ya wondering Tania took Sarah the next day so no she didn't miss out..... only Harry did! ha,ha)

Bushfire season

Well it was on again for yet another Bushfire over the road from our home, just the same as last year and probably the same monguls as well. Fairdinkum it was about flamin' 39 in the shade and some fruitloop goes and starts a friggin' fire in the bush, some people need a good clip behind the ears. And a good boot up the bum wouldn't go astray hay! This was what we could see from the end of our street.

Well we had to have a squizz at it didn't we, you can't have a bushfire down at the end of ya street and not go and have a gander hay!

First the fire brigade hit the fire with their water trucks then in came the big boys, the fire engines which just hit the edges of the fire and let it back burn itself. These blokes who fight these fires are just Ridgie-Didge bloody hero's mate, to work in this heat with that gear on their backs is just un -frigin'-believable!!

Then over our heads came the bushfire helicopters which went straight to work hitting the center of the fire, as the other fire fighters just sat back and worked around the outside. These are the same choppers as we saw last year, and just like that day they refilled their tanks in the pond next to our baseball field.

These helicopters are unbelievable to watch as they fly over the fire spot where they will drop their payload then swing around and come back and hit it spot on.... cool.

The cops kept the road closed as the bush firefighters worked to mop up the last of the little out brakes, luckily only a small section of the scrub bush was set on fire. So hopefully the little mug who set it off doesn't come back to finish of his work, but he probably will knowing the drop kicks we have about.

Here the fire fighters hook their water truck up to the water mains along Patterson drive, so they can get back into hitting the fire. As I told Jacko and Harrison 'here the fire fighters hook up their Thingummyjig with their Wadjamacallit and pump water from the mains to their Thingemebob on the back of their truck'..... clear as mud!

Harrisons first day

Well the time had finally come to see number three kiddie Harrison go off into the big world we like to call SCHOOL! Yes the little fella was starting his first official day at Kindergarten, and don't he look all smart with his school clothes on ready to face the world.

It was also the start of school for the other little nevilles Jacko and Sarah, and to say the misses was very happy was an understatement! She was friggin' over the moon. But their's always a catch and for her it was that she still had one little kiddie still hanging around her feet....... The Osk!!

Here is Harrison in his classroom with one of his teachers and a new classmate, strewth his teacher isn't a bad sort is she, not like the ones back in my day (just a few years ago) me old Mrs Mosgrove didn't scrub-up like that! Believe me mate, but can she teach I hear you ask?.... well who cares!!

And Oscar wasn't gonna let Harrison have all the fun while he just sat back and watch, oh no he was one of the first kiddies to hit the toys and start into it, even if it wasn't his school it wouldn't stop him getting in and having a good go of it. From all accounts he had just as much fun as Harry did and isn't gonna be happy beaning left in the car as older brother gos into school...... poor little bugger!
