Bushfire season

Well it was on again for yet another Bushfire over the road from our home, just the same as last year and probably the same monguls as well. Fairdinkum it was about flamin' 39 in the shade and some fruitloop goes and starts a friggin' fire in the bush, some people need a good clip behind the ears. And a good boot up the bum wouldn't go astray hay! This was what we could see from the end of our street.

Well we had to have a squizz at it didn't we, you can't have a bushfire down at the end of ya street and not go and have a gander hay!

First the fire brigade hit the fire with their water trucks then in came the big boys, the fire engines which just hit the edges of the fire and let it back burn itself. These blokes who fight these fires are just Ridgie-Didge bloody hero's mate, to work in this heat with that gear on their backs is just un -frigin'-believable!!

Then over our heads came the bushfire helicopters which went straight to work hitting the center of the fire, as the other fire fighters just sat back and worked around the outside. These are the same choppers as we saw last year, and just like that day they refilled their tanks in the pond next to our baseball field.

These helicopters are unbelievable to watch as they fly over the fire spot where they will drop their payload then swing around and come back and hit it spot on.... cool.

The cops kept the road closed as the bush firefighters worked to mop up the last of the little out brakes, luckily only a small section of the scrub bush was set on fire. So hopefully the little mug who set it off doesn't come back to finish of his work, but he probably will knowing the drop kicks we have about.

Here the fire fighters hook their water truck up to the water mains along Patterson drive, so they can get back into hitting the fire. As I told Jacko and Harrison 'here the fire fighters hook up their Thingummyjig with their Wadjamacallit and pump water from the mains to their Thingemebob on the back of their truck'..... clear as mud!
