Australia Day

Well for this Australia Day we decided to pack all the kiddies into old Fordie and head down to Rockingham Beach and hang out with the Rissole's from Mandurah. So on a beaut barmy Aussie day mornin' we headed down the highway to Rockingham.

As you can see we have a ring-in in the photo, well it's little Locko Souter who you know as Jacky Rissole's little neville!

The Day was spot on and not a cloud in sight, as we first had a great time on the swings then the sheilahs took the kiddies down for a swim. When they came back it was time for smoko, so instead of throwing a shrimp on the Barbie we settled for a beaut feed of fish 'n chips, washed down with some cold drinks to wash away the heat.

Then it was the fellas turn to take the kiddies down to the beach, and with good supervision and some luck on our part we didn't lose any of the little shark biscuits!

Look at what the cat dragged in, the poor little buggers were running all over the place like a centipede on a hotplate! they were well and truly stuffed hay.

Harrison's big day out!

Well this was Harrison's very first time to go for a walkabout around Perth by himself and your's truly, without any of his brothers or big sis. So the first thing was to go and catch the train from Guilford train station, which takes about twenty minutes from Guilford to Perth. We could of caught the train from Midland but I like locking the car up at Guilford and these a lot off shade from the trees which Midland doesn't have.

So after our train trip I usually take the kiddies to have brekky at MacDonald's because they don't normally get stuff like that and a day in Perth has to be special hay. So after a beaut little feed of hotcakes off we go for a walk around the city.

Our first stop is for a photo of Harrison with Perth behind him, which I think all me kiddies have done at least once in their lifetime from the same place. And so here is Harrison with Perth city behind him.

So with some nice hotcakes in the tummy of we walk to the WA Museum which from the train station only takes about four minutes. It's a beaut museum which is kiddie friendly.... thank God. You have Dinosaurs, different animals from all over Australia and the best thing that the kiddies love is the Discovery centre. Where they can touch some stuff and also do some drawing and coloring, and from their it's only a short walk to the Dinosaur!

Now this T-Rex would have to be the most photoed Dinosaur in Perth...... next to Dorathy!
So far Jacko and Sarah have been photoed in from of Mr T-Rex and now it was little Harrison's turn and here it is. Harrison loved it and just loved walking about, just looking at everything around him.

Then it was time to catch the free bus which runs around Perth called the Blue cat. There's also a Red cat and Black cat that run around different parts of Perth, but where we were going we needed the Blue cat.

Then we got off the bus at Barrack street jetty, and waited about ten minutes for a ferry ride across the Swan river to South Perth. Over on the south side you can go for a walk or there is heaps of fancy shops, and it is also the home of the famous Perth Zoo. But we normally get our selfs a cup of chips and a orange juice and park our bums at the park so Harry could have a swing and a feed at the same time, cool. But before we knew it, it was time for our ride back across the river to Perth foreshore. From there we had a nice walk back up threw the Supreme court gardens and Stirling Gardens.

Here is Harrison hanging out with the man himself Captain James Stirling, the founding Governor of Western Australia back in 1829 to 1838.

And it wouldn't be a trip to Perth if ya didn't pop over and say G'day to the famous metal kangaroos which are on St Georges Terrace. But all good things have to come to an end and after a beaut feed we were on our way back on the train and back to Guilford before we knew it. So that was it and I know Harrison had a beaut time and I know it wont be hes last one. But next time he'll probably have his other two little mates with him.
